About the Software

WHAT IS OMNIDOME?

OMNIDOME is a arbitrary surface projection mapping tool.
It allows you to map any physical room and project virtual content back on to it.
What it does, it turns the whole world into a 360° VR display, making VR a shared and social experience.
Omnidome is Opensource, Multiplatform and designed for Artists.

OMNIDOME works natively with Syphon and All VJ / Performance software that support it.

Equirectangular (Spherical Projection)
Fisheye (Half Dome Projection)

INPUTS

Use different inputs to calibrate and preview your mapping:

Features built in calibration inputs for each mapping type (Spherical, Fisheye, Cubic, Planar)
Add a still image to the input library
Use a Syphon output from another application for a live input.

OMNIDOME comes as a fully functional Mapping software released under an OpenSource Licence, meaning it is free to download and use.

Here are some examples of the plugins we will be offering in the future.


Auto Calibration

Fully automatic auto calibration, point a camera at your scene and press a button and your mapping will be automatically calibrated, with edge blending and colour correction.

3D Model Loader
Import a 3D Model (STL, OBJ, PLY) into your scene and map directly on to your own geometry.

Black Magic Input Capture
Capture a live feed directly from a Black Magic input device.

Unlimited Projectors
Literally go crazy, as many as your graphics hardware can handle.

Virtual Screen Manager
Add Virtual screens to your mapped space directly in Omnidome.

Unity Game Engine plugin
Load your mapping data directly into your Unity file and export a game correctly mapped to your environment.

VR Show Consultancy

We are available for consulting on your live VR show projects. We offer a full range of services from guidence and advice on the Omnidome Software itself to full solutions for any type of VR projection installation or show. We specialise in Live performace with audio and visuals combined, our custom playback solution allows for advanced realtime graphics with audio reactivity and interactive performance elements.

OMNIDOME Server Hardware

We offer OMNIDOME Servers in several configurations wich will serve your proffesional VR projection needs. They run our rock solid OMNIDOME Server framework which drive 8, 16, or 32 DisplayPort outputs and a 4k capture input. OMNIDOME Servers come with the full arbitrary surface support, an advanced feature set and are optimized to perform your 360° cinema or live experience reliably.

Content Creation

Our team of designers and artists are constantly creating new types of 360° immersive content. We are creating film, animations, computer generated graphics, realtime immersive VR environments and games.
